Biomedical Engineering

Required average
A GPA of at least 60% is required. Places for this program are limited.

Biomedical Sciences

Closed programs
The Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences of the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology is closed to exchange students.

Cellular Biology and Pathology

Closed program
The Master’s degree in Cellular Biology and Pathology is closed to exchange students.

Dentistry

Only students from Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium) can apply for UdeM's Dentistry programs.

Kinesiology and Physical Activity Studies

Closed programs
Internship options are not available.

Required average
Due to the high number of applications received each year, candidate selection is very competitive. Only applicants with an above-average academic record may be selected.

Language requirements
If your first language is not French, you must provide proof of French proficiency corresponding to C1 according to the Common European Framework, or its equivalent.

Bachelor and Master's programs
Undergraduate and Master level students must have completed at least the first year of their degree in order to be considered.

A letter of recommandation will be necessary.

Medicine - Medical Doctor Program

Year 1 and 2 (preclinical) of the Medical Doctor Program (MD) are closed to exchange students.

The Faculty of Medicine accepts to receive a limited number of exchange applications for the year 3 and 4 (clerkship) for the program leading to the achievement of a medical degree. It is full time clinical interships with the University's affiliated hospitals.

Neuroscience

Faculty of Arts and Sciences
The Cognitive Neuroscience program is closed to exchange students.

Faculty of Medicine
The normal requirements apply for programs of the Faculty's Neuroscience Department.

 

Nursing

Required average
Due to the high number of applications received each year, candidate selection is very competitive. Only applicants with an above-average academic record may be considered.

Language requirements
If your first language is not French, you must provide the TFI (International French Test) with a score of 785/990 and a score of 4 for the writing component. 

Specifics for undergraduates
Undergraduate students can take only one of the following 3rd year courses: SOI3604A/3604B/3704 or SOI3516/3716.

Nutrition

Bachelor in Nutrition

  • The number of places in exchange program is limited, only applicants with an above-average academic record will be considered.
  • If you first language is not French, you must provide the TFI (International French Test) with a score of 850/990.
  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least the first year of their degree and can only take bachelor level courses.
  • Internship options are not available.
  • Students are required to have a laptop computer. 

Master in Nutrition, Professional Master in Nutrition and PhD in Nutrition
A TFI of 785/990 is required.

Occupational Therapy

Bachelor in Health Sciences (Occupational Therapy) and Master in Occupational Therapy

  • The number of places in exchange program is limited, only applicants with an above-average academic record will be considered.
  • If your first language is not French, you must provide the TFI (International French Test) with a score of 785/990.
  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least 2 years of their degree before beginning the exchange.
  • You may be asked to take preliminary online courses before the beginning of the exchange.
  • For clinical training options: only students from universities that are partners with the School can apply (university-wide agreements are not accepted).

Optometry

Closed program

  • The OD program in Optometry is closed to exchange students.

Pharmacy

Closed programs

  • The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and the Master in Advanced Pharmacotherapy programs are not open to exchange students, except for institutions with whom these programs have specific agreements.
  • DESS and Master in Medicine Development are not open to exchange students.

Bachelor in Biopharmaceutical Sciences

  • you must choose courses within the same bloc for each term of their exchange. Additionally, following your arrival, should you wish to take courses from Bloc 70B Cheminement général - Cours multivolets, you must obtain the approval of the appropriate department. Further information in this regard will be sent to you after your arrival on campus.
  • Level of French required: TFI of 785/990 or TEF/TCF/DELF/DALF of C1 for the speaking and writing components. The test must issued within 24 months prior to the start of the exchange.
  • Places in this program are limited. A letter of recommandation will be necessary.

Physiotherapy

Bachelor in Physiotherapy (174511)

  • This program only accepts 3rd year students from universities with which there is a sectorial agreements (university-wide agreements are not accepted).

Master in Physiotherapy (274510)

  • This program is not open to exchange students, except for universities with a specific agreement.

Public Health

Graduate Programs (Master in Public Health)

A minimum GPA of 3.4/4.3 is required.

Speech Therapy and Audiology

The Master and Ph.D. in Speech Therapy and Audiology are the only programs open to exchange students (courses or research). Certain research internships are also available within the Professional Master in Speech Therapy.

Veterinary Medicine

Only students from universities that are partners with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine can apply (university-wide agreements are not accepted). Please get in touch with your home university for more information regarding the requirements for a study abroad at UdeM.

Non-Canadian students will be billed for clinical internships (e.g. $1000 per term).

Language requirement
A level of French proficiency of B1 is required.
