UdeM Partner Days

On October 30th and 31st, the Université de Montréal holds the very first edition of its Partner Days. This is an opportunity to strengthen collaborative ties and to spark ideas for joint academic and research projects.
The activities will be held in French and English.

Venue: pavillon 3200 Jean-Brillant Street, ground floor
Access via the Côte-des-neige metro station or the 165 North bus line.
Teams will be there to welcome you, give you your badge, and guide you to the first meeting.

Welcome speeches by Valérie Amiraux, Vice-Rector – Global Engagements and First Peoples, and Virginie Allard-Caméus, UdeM international’s Executive Director.

We will gather in groups to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration within our partnerships and to identify strategies for harmonizing student mobility between our institutions.

11:30 AM to 1 PM: Destination: The World | Student Mobility Fair
Showcase the mobility opportunities your university has to offer to our student community. A dedicated space will be provided for each university with registered representatives.

2:30 PM to 4:30 PM: Main Campus Visit
After the meal, we invite you to join a guided tour of Université de Montréal's main campus. This walk will take you through the campus’s iconic sites—a route where architecture, artworks, Indigenous knowledge, and biodiversity intersect.
The tour will last approximately two hours and will take place rain or shine. Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes. The tour will depart after the meal, with a return to the UdeM international offices by metro.

5 PM: Networking Cocktail at UdeM international's Office
This Networking Cocktail will give you the opportunity to network with mobility and international relations officers at UdeM, and with representatives from universities in the Tassep consortium.

9:30 AM to 10:30 AM: Realities of Student Immigration in Canada and Support Provided | Seminar
In light of recent changes to Canadian immigration policies, what can we do to better support international students in their academic journey at UdeM? The panelists will provide an overview of the current situation and present strategies implemented to assist international students with their immigration procedures. This seminar will also offer an opportunity to share initiatives and experiences in other institutions.

11 AM to 12 PM: A Fragmented World: the Importance of Maintaining Strong Collaborations
In a context of increasing conflicts and geopolitical tensions, it is essential to preserve and strengthen the ties between our regions and institutions. Whether by developing joint training or research projects, or welcoming international students, our actions must be guided by inclusion and openness.
Speaker: Laurence Deschamps-Laporte (PhD Oxford), Professor of political sciences at the Université de Montréal.
Expert in Canadian foreign policy and diplomacy, her main research agenda is set in feminism in international relations, Middle-East politics and islamist movements. She completed a PhD at Oxford University thanks to a Rhodes scholarship. Before joining UdeM and CÉRIUM, Laurence Deschamps-Laporte was an advisor, then chief of staff to three Canadian foreign ministers. As a consultant at McKinsey & Company, she carried out public policy mandates in several countries in Africa and the Middle East.
